High-Speed Internet Use Up 34%

Just saw this note. DSL usage is now at 13.8 Million in U.S., and Cable modems at 21.4 Million subscibers. All other High-Speed lines seem to account for 2.7 million additional lines. However, I think that last number is misleading - a company which has a pipe counts as one, even though 10 or 10,000 employees may connect through it.

The interesting part is that the U.S. ranks 16th in terms of broadband use (I’m sure that’s per capita).

It’s amazing how so many of us spend our entire day focused on how search engines affect our lives, and how it drives our client’s businesses, yet it still is not as widely used as we keep assuming it is.

Welcome to our new Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Blog!

I’m Richard Zwicky, CEO of Metamend, a leading search engine optimization firm with clients in over 60 countries around the world.

We’ve been meaning to do this for a while, but like so much in a company that’s flying, it just takes time! Thanks to Todd Hooge for getting this set up for me, and for getting it just right!

As many of you may know, I’ve been maintaining a blog since last year at Blogger / Blogspot. I’m segregating the content between this blog and the other one starting today. I’m going to use my blogger account for all non search engine related postings / musings, and keep search industry related comments here.

I realized a while back, I really enjoy writing. I have no idea if my blog writings are any good or completely useless, but hopefully it’s mostly the former, and not the latter.

Anyhow, sometimes comments will be just a quick note, and sometimes it will be lengthy. They seem to take the same amount of time regardless, which may strike some people as odd. Perhaps because some postings are more a stream of consciousness, and thus thought out as they are being written, and others are more matter of fact in nature, with no explanation necessary.
