I went up to the lake this weekend, and enjoyed not having an Internet connection (except via my Treo). Today, I started flipping through emails, and saw a note about Andy Beal making a posting at Search Engine Lowdown(SEL), I decided to check it out.
I thought Andy’s letter of resignation - which was widely blogged as “Andy Beal Leaves Websourced” - was classy. It was simple, to the point, and inoffensive. What was offensive was what happened next. First the post was removed from SEL, then it was up on his personal blog at blogspot, then it disappeared from there too. This jack-in-the-box postiing with the now you see it now you don’t quality put the whole thing into a completely different perspective.
Anydy’s post on the 15th was very kind and gracious. For whatever reason, he may not have wanted to stay at WebSourced, but he hopes that Think Partnership does well, because as a shareholder, he’ll benefit from their success.
Differences of opinion happen in relationships. Had Andy’s original posting been left alone, and had it included the third paragraph of Friday’s post, I don’t think that anywhere near the furore would have been raised.
