We never really said anything before, but thought we would take the opportunity to mention that Google Sitemaps are part of Metamend’s SEO service. We don’t charge extra for this service, it’s just included because it helps the client.

We’ve been building Site Maps for search engines since sometime in late 2000 early 2001. Our technology spiders client’s sites and builds a Site Map as it goes. It also checks for 404 errors, and prepares a report for our clients.

When Google announced their support for Site Maps, we were ready. We just never said anything. Converting our standard Site Map into an XML feed for a Google Sitemap is not a big deal. Our technology does it on the fly - just one more step for the software to run through. The beauty is, it’s always done right. Humans review our work.

Anyhow, someone asked me about SiteMaps today, so I thought that I should take a moment to mention that not only do we support Google’s new Sitemap system, we’ve been building Site Maps that Google has loved for years. Now we just prepare 2 SiteMaps, one exclusively for Google, and one which all the search engines, including Google use!
