A friend of mine for over 20 years, Francis Fox became a Senator on Tuesday.
I’m thrilled for him, as I know his passion is to make positive contributions to public policy.
I’m sure he will do a fantastic job.
Congratulations Francis!

I was just looking through our stats earlier, and noticed something interesting.
This blog is all about search engines, and search engine optimization. Among the topics mentioned frequently are of course Google, MSN, Yahoo! - just what you would expect. I also wrote two comments about Hilton’s Perverted Bedding Initiative. I don’t think I could have foreseen all the various queries related to Paris Hilton that we would be getting from the search engines. I knew that Paris Hilton was big. But she’s bigger than Google.
We get lots of traffic for terms like Google’s Vision Statement, Yahoo Strategy, and the like. The overwhleming majority of our traffic related to search engines. But all the Hilton & Paris Hilton related terms are staggering! Here’s a list of some which struck me - (I’ve left out the rude ones):

Andrew Goodman noted in his blog ten days ago that his firm was not listed in this years MarketingSherpa report. Why? Basically because he gets so much spam mail he missed the invite to be included.
I laughed - I hadn’t even realized they had a new report, and in one fell swoop discovered both that it existed, and why we were not included! We’re not in MarketingSherpa’s guide either. Why? Because their ongoing emails have triggered our spam filters, and I don’t get them anymore.
Are our firms exceptional? Nope - I noticed that Bruce Clay didn’t get included either. Actually, I spotted quite a few worthwhile firms missing from the list right off the bat.
Should we all have been included? Most likely, yes.
It should matter to Marketing Sherpa that so many noteworthy firms, like ourselves, BruceClay.com and PageZeroMedia were not included. It renders the MarketingSherpa Buyer’s Guide incomplete. These omissions mean that people who purchase this report will not have complete or proper information upon which to make an informed decision.

Today and yesterday we added search engine map pages for Infospace and Netscape Search.
It’s getting pretty crowded in the search engine map! Still a few more to come thought…
