The other day I wrote a blog posting about Google’s Sandbox. It got a lot of hits. On Monday I wrote about Google losing in court to Geico. It got the second most hits for any blog posting yet, even though I posted it late in the day after most people would have left work.

The busiest entry for this blog? Hilton’s Perverted Bedding Initiative, and the follow up posts.

If I had to quantify it in relation to search queries, I would say we get two to three times as many link referrals from “Paris Hilton”, but more overall search queries for “Google” related terms. From an seo perspective that’s a relief….

What I find interesting is that, as a percentage of traffic, people looking for Hilton related materials seem to surf in from other sites more than from search engines. However, people looking for Google related information arrive more frequently from a search query, or in response to blog pings. (I know, wrong vernacular, but I can’t get the right term in my head). Obviously, the stats seem to indicate that people looking for Google related information are more technical in nature.

Last week while I was in San Jose I had the opportunity to meet with lots of interesting people, and enter into some interesting discussions. One such person was Ken Moss, who is the General Manager of MSN search.

Ken’s a really nice fellow, who quite obviously passionate about his family and his job.

At some point in one of our conversations we got onto the subject of blogs, and I mentioned that he really needs to post to his blog more frequently - my thought being that for a search related blog titled “Always Thinking,” he never seems to stop long enough to share the thoughts with the rest of us. Being insufferably curious, I find that annoying ;-)

Today, Ken shares some thoughts on the future of his other passion: Poker.
