Google turns 7 years old today!

Born on September 7, 1998, I wonder what sort of birthday presents are being exchanged around the offices?

One thought: For the chief engineers: Sand from the Google Sandbox to be worn as a pendant on a chain

  • Having seen it for myself I know the Google Sandbox exists and where the sand comes from. ( !!! )
  • Unlike the algorithms, they can carry it around easily.
  • Sand’s at the heart of Silicon, and Google at the heart of Silicon Valley
  • It’s probably one of Google’s biggest and most interesting secrets. People will get excited to see it
  • Good conversation piece. And not creepy like Angelina Jolie wearing a pendant filled with Billy Bob’s blood!
  • Google engineers will feel like Mr. Universe – people will always be asking them to take off their shirts!
  • If they ever run low on cash they can auction the sand on eBAy. Someone will buy it!
  • If they ever run out of Kitty litter, they’ll have an emergency supply

Happy Birthday to Google, and all Google Staff

  1. WOW, only 7? I remember so many from 5 years before they were born, and where have they all gone?
