One of the problems with working in cyberspace is that days can mesh into each other without one noticing a significant amount of time has passed. A similar phenomenon happens in a casino except that when working in cyberspace, money tends to flow in an infinitely more positive direction. As the orderly passing of time becomes less relevant, exact dates for holidays get a little fuzzy. Heaven knows the Internet is working regardless of who has which day off where. The challenge to being a bright aye-ready-eyed Executive team member in this world is there is no time off, just guilty stolen hours of relaxation punctuated with the odd 5-star meal.

In the real world (read: anywhere other than management), people take holiday time very seriously. Though I might perceive long-weekends happening with an alarming and increasing frequency (I don’t see a lot of short weekends to tell the truth), apparently there are not enough of them in the calendar year. That’s what my friends tell me anyway.

I have a hard enough time remembering what day of the week it is, much less the significance of any given date. Imagine my amazement when I learned that Friday April 6 is Good Friday. Actually, don’t bother… it was rather silly to tell the truth. Nobody has a rolodex deep enough to work out this sort of scheduling conflict.
