Finally, time for SES follow-Ups

It’s been two full weeks since Search Engine Strategies San Jose ended and I am just now starting to do the proper and polite thing, follow-up on the dozens of new connections made.

It’s hard to believe time has flown so fast however, in the hurly-burly world of IT, hours condense into minutes and twelve hour work-days pass so quickly one hardly realizes they are actually working. Those stories about programmers camping in their offices for weeks at a time because they are obsessed with task and process are absolutely true. When truly dedicated IT workers get working on something fascinating they tend to devote 100% of their focus to that project.

Here at Metamend, we’ve been busying ourselves perfecting our new website and our re-branding initiative. Moving beyond simple search marketing, Metamend has articulated several new services designed to offer a fuller range of online marketing options to our clients. One of Metamend’s strongest assets is the experience and knowledge necessary to anticipate and adapt to change. Collectively, we have almost two-hundred years of Internet marketing experience to call upon from some of the best brains in the industry.

We have also bulked up our in-house headcount (thus adding even more years of experience to the collective mind). It has been an expansive year for the company which has almost doubled in size over the past twelve months. It has also been a challenging year for Metamend. In the early spring, we survived a fire that absolutely destroyed our old offices and forced change a bit faster than anticipated.

Expect a post introducing all new staff members in a couple weeks when the dust has settled and full-time work spaces are assigned. Suffice it to say, the company is tightening its already well established processes. Being a “best practices operation” means dedication to learning new methods and improving on established ones. It’s been a long two weeks, ones that have passed in the blink of an eye.

So now I am committing to write the dozens of emails and make the critical phone calls. I met a lot of excellent people at SES San Jose and reconnected with dozens more. I’ve been aware of time passing but am still surprised at the pace of its progression. I finally have the time and energy to make good on the excellent connections made at a most excellent conference.
