DMOZ does provide some search listings to Google but it does not retain the platform it once held. A few years ago, a listing in DMOZ was mandatory for strong placements at Google. Today, not so much...  That doesn&#039;t mean DMOZ is no longer important. It does provide the data-dump that populates the Google Directory and several other directories and third/fourth tier search engines.

By the way, I should disclose that I know many of the folks at BOTW personally and consider them to be friends. I trust these guys to do the right thing with DMOZ if Shoe&#039;s rumour does turn out to be true.</description>
