The Search Marketing Expo East convention is taking place in New York City next week. SMX is the search marketing conference series organized by Danny Sullivan, Chris Sherman and the team at Third Door Media. Though the SMX conferences are only entering their second year, the series has become one of the most important and influential on the annual show circuit. At every major search marketing conference, a group of huge hearted online marketers get together to throw the Internet Marketers’ Charity Party.

This year, the SMX East charity party is being held on Monday October 6 at The Social Bar (795 8th Ave between 48th and 49th St.s). Admission is $50 with all proceeds going to benefit The Ronald McDonald House. Because these events are organized by brilliant marketers, there are a dozen different ways to happily donate money throughout the night. I often help MC the raffle part of the evening and it is my sincere desire and obligation to get everyone to give ’till it hurts. The party starts at 8PM and runs until 11.
