Search Strategies
Thursday, July 28, 2011Comparing Search Engine Strategies
Trying to decide which search engine strategy is best for your business can be confusing to say the least. The first step is to identify the main types of search engine strategies available and what each one means. The three that we will discuss today are:
In the Pay Per Inclusion strategy model you must pay a fee (either monthly or annually) to be guaranteed a listing within a specific search engine index. Although you are guaranteed a listing, there are no placement guarantees which means that you could be listed anywhere within that search engine. Without the right SEO plan, your website will not receive what a professionally optimized website would.
With Pay Per Placement strategies, you can have your website located in a pre-defined position within a search engine. Although you can achieve a high ranking, the results may still not be in your favour since your site has not been optimized based on content. Getting hundreds or thousands of clicks are only of value if they can actually translate to sales. Paying for clicks that show no results will substantially decrease your company’s ROI.
