Define: WYSIWYG

WYSIWYG: WYSIWYG (pronounced "wiz-ee-wig"), is an acronym for "what you see is what you get." A WYSIWYG editor allows web designers to create web pages quickly via a GUI drag and drop interface, so they can see the end result while the document is still being created.

True WYSIWYG editors, such as Microsoft's FrontPage, Adobe's PageMill or Go Live (formerly CyberStudio), conceal the markup and allow the developer to think entirely in terms of how the content should appear.

Most WYSIWYG editors will format HTML without any regard for how search engine spiders index pages.
