Relevance Engine Developed:
Self Promoting Web Sites Next Wave of Internet Marketing

(Victoria, BC) Metamend Software and Design Ltd., (www.metamend.com) announced it has acquired worldwide distribution and single user licensing rights to Automated Site Promotion's, (ASP) relevance engine technology, designed to enhance the marketing and promotion of web sites over the Internet.

The newly developed technology has the ability to create, enhance and optimize the source code metatags within the HTML of a web page, allowing search engine "spiders" and "bots" greater acceptance of the pages. The software generates increasingly relevant metatags by analyzing site content and correlating the information with search pattern data derived from the search engines themselves. The "mending" procedure is an ongoing process allowing both the search engine and the web site to learn from each other.

The software allows the "mended" site to provide accurate metadata based upon the engines' need to index it properly. In turn, the engine reciprocates by readily absorbing the data and telling the web page, via the software, how to maximize the site's effectiveness. The result? The web site becomes increasing relevant to the search engine. In other words, the web site learns how to promote itself. The entire process is fully automated.

"For the busy e-commerce or web hosting company," explains Leo Commandeur, Metamend's Business Development Officer, "it's a no-brainer." "Just marketing a single site properly can easily be a full time job. Now imagine the time involved in trying to market 10,000 of them. Our software is a major time and money saver. Metamend is currently negotiating strategic alliances with several large web hosting companies to provide the software as an "across-the-board" solution for ecommerce clients. According to ASP's North American Director, Richard Zwicky, "the acceptance of the software thus far has been to put it mildly, extremely encouraging." "When we tell them how the marketing process has been fully automated, eyebrows start to raise," says Zwicky with a grin, "but once they grasp the impact the software will have on their client's web sites, heads really start bobbing."

Metamend has integrated the new technology into the company's existing marketing and promotional services offered of course, via their web site.
