DUBLIN CORE METADATA INSERTION LATEST METAMEND SEO INNOVATION

(Victoria, BC) A rapidly expanding Canadian search engine optimization (SEO) firm today announced the newest module in the company's growing arsenal of automated SEO technology solutions for web site marketing and promotion. Metamend of Victoria, BC, Canada, has developed software which will automatically create and insert relevant Dublin Core (DC) Metadata elements into the source code of a client's web page. Meta tags and Metadata sets are specific lines of computer code which certain search engines rely upon to properly index and classify web sites.
The Dublin Core standard comprises fifteen elements, the semantics of which have been established through consensus by an international,
cross-disciplinary group of professionals from librarianship, computer science, text encoding, the museum community and other related fields of scholarship.
Discovery of information across the Internet is often hindered by differences in terminology and descriptive practices from one field of
knowledge to the next. The Dublin Core can help the 'digital tourist' find his or her way by supporting a common set of elements, the
semantics of which are universally understood and supported.
The Dublin Core Element Set was originally developed in English, but versions are being created in many other languages, including Finnish,
Norwegian, Thai, Japanese, French, Portuguese, German, Greek, Indonesian, and Spanish.
The decision to develop an auto-insertion module for the DC dataset before the standard becomes "officially" adopted was justified by a Metamend spokesperson as "keen foresight." "There are several variations of Metadata standards all being bantered around these days, explained Todd Hooge, Metamend's web development specialist, "but the DC (Dublin Core) set has been developing and in use by Academia and Library Sciences for quite some time. It's an excellent classification system, one we feel will soon reach global standardization. We wanted our automated SEO technology to be fully capable of deploying these important datasets for our clients well before global adoption. We like to be innovators, says Hooge, "We do not like to play catch-up."
For the average web site owner having an extra dozen or so lines of source code within their web page will hardly raise an eyebrow. Most
web site owners will not immediately appreciate what is going on behind the scenes in the murky world of programming languages but the adjunct importance of Metamend's new DC insertion module should not be casually dismissed nor underestimated. There are tens of thousands of subject specific, industry specific and language specific databases of information beyond regular search engines used by the general public.
Given time, these small unassuming lines of Dublin Core code, will vastly enhance a web site's acceptance into these databases by allowing
valid pages to be relevantly indexed within specific subject classifications and categories and quickly cross-referenced for searchability.
Portals and Vortels indexing web sites via Dublin Core elements as well as multilingual and country specific search engines will welcome
DC coded sites. Thus, a DC coded web site gains considerable competitive advantage over an uncoded one, which for all intents and
purposes remains non-indexable and practically invisible to this huge segment of Internet user.
The new Dublin Core insertion module promises to open large doors for Metamend clients seeking access to the global market.
