Search Engine ExactSeek

The ExactSeek search engine is a division of Jayde Online. Jayde Online was founded in 1993 and incorporated in early 1998. Located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the company has been internet-focused from its creation and primarily involved in the publication of email newsletters and the development of niche and general search engines.

What Is The ExactSeek Search Engine

ExactSeek.com is an Internet search engine and directory that receives and indexes over 30,000 new site submissions daily. So far, over 3 million web sites have been indexed and appended to ExactSeek’s ever growing database. Aside from standard web search results, ExactSeek offers targeted searches of specialized databases. Currently, visitors can use niche search engines to find newsletters, articles, mp3 files, images, comparison shopping sites and police and investigative sites.

ExactSeek powers six other web search engines, which include: Aesop.com, OnSeek.com, MaxPromo.com, Best-SearchEngine.com, SitesOnDisplay.com and MetaWebSearch.com — thus it remits over 10.5 million searches each month. Furthermore, ExactSeek partnered with Alexa Internet in September, 2003, and introduced a site ranking algorithm unique to the search engine industry. This algorithm utilizes Alexa traffic data and page content relevancy to determine rankings.

A search of a single keyword using ExactSeek Search will bring up a list of those sites that contain the keyword in their Site name and/or description. When a phrase or several keywords are searched, sites are selected as a search match if the keywords searched are found within 1 to 20 words of eachother within the site listing.

ExactSeek Pay for Inclusion

ExactSeek offers a pay for inclusion option, called 'Featured Listings,' which has the following major features:For further details about their PFI program and to purchase of an ExactSeek feature listing, visit this link: ExactSeek Featured Listings.

How ExactSeek Works

The indexing method used by ExactSeek is somewhat unique in that virtually every word in the site name (Title tag), site description (Meta Description tag) and Meta Keyword tag is indexed. Site ranking for specific keywords is dependent on whether those words are used in the site name and/or description and on how many times they appear. We strongly suggest that when optimizing for this search engine, webmasters should avoid overuse of common, but meaningless words, such as "the, a, and, with, for, with. etc." that do nothing to identify the uniqueness of their web sites.
